Pennington Biomedical Research Center offers Non-Employee Training (NET) for college undergraduate, graduate and post graduate students, ages 18+, in order to facilitate opportunities to earn curriculum credit while learning about Pennington Biomedical research and methods first-hand.  Trainee applicants are strongly encouraged to apply 1-2 semesters in advance, as trainee placements are limited.

To learn about courses which offer curriculum credit for research training experience; or to inquire about short-term research training grants for students, please consult with your academic advisor to identify available options.  Once you identify your options: 1) if you are able to earn curriculum credit or 2) if you are a short-term research training award recipient; complete and submit a General Interest Application. Email your application to; you can expect to receive an email from the Trainee Registrar within 48 hours.

NET opportunities are open to any and all persons legally present in the United States and who are legally eligible, and without VISA restrictions, to participate in the trainee program; who also meet trainee program criteria, and have a strong grade point average and interest level that is acceptable to participating mentors.

Pennington Biomedical Research Center does not have a volunteer program.
